It's time to Spring Clean your Makeup! Here's how...

Although spring cleaning may seem like a daunting task; there is something exciting about refreshing and cleaning old things and making them new. Beauty products and applicators are often neglected and forgotten in this important cleaning process. Taking care of your cosmetics is imperative to maintaining  healthy and happy skin, therefore we are sharing 3 easy ways to clean your makeup products and applicators:

1. Disinfecting your Lipsticks: often forgotten but important nonetheless.

Option 1: take your tube of lipstick and dip it in alcohol for  15-30 seconds. Gently Wipe away the top layer of the lipstick. Option 2: leave the lipstick in the freezer overnight. This also kills bacteria and viruses. Here is a gentle alcohol option:  ArtNaturals

2. Cleaning your Makeup Brushes: cleaning your makeup brush prevents bacteria buildup which can lead to breakouts.

How to clean: use baby shampoo, soak your dirty brushes in the shampoo and water, massage the bristles in your palm, rinse thoroughly with clean water, squeeze out excess water. Dry on a clean towel. If you prefer an electric cleaner, here is a recommendation from Amazon.

3.Refreshing your powders and palettes: applying clean powders and palettes to your face is goals!

Fill an empty spray bottle with rubbing alcohol, spray the powder and palettes directly, and let them air dry. Easy breezy!

We recommend cleaning your cosmetics and applicators every 3 weeks by using alcohol or freezing them overnight.
